1)The purpose of us learning critical reasoning skills is for us to be able to make something out of a person's view and be able to reason with it,adding our own view,reading what the person is trying to say beneath his or her article.
2)To assume is to conclude using our own reasoning skill without having any facts,or very little facts to back it up.Assumptions are important in writing essays because in writing essays sometimes we lack the knowledge to touch on certain topics,so its up to our own understanding and assumptions in order to write the essay.
3)'Human cloning would end up destroying our race'
1:because it would cause our planet to overpopulate and forced to live on the depleting resources,which would make our extinction rate go faster.
2:because there would be a tendency to clone soldiers,causing the future wars to be much much bigger and deadlier,and may end up leading to world destruction
4)i've learnt how to write properly an essay,with a proper topic sentence and the reasons to support it.the lesson i enjoyed most is the one where we were taught how to write an argumentative article.
1)Personally i feel that the CRS better known as Critical Reasoning Skills allow us to know more techniques to writing and ways to decipher an article including the author's views and stands. Also it has taught us important skills such as how to locate the topic sentence of an article. Thus i feel that the purpose of CRS is to teach present students skills to interpret articles and to improve their writing skills.
2) Assumptions are views of people who draw conclusions from statements. It is an unstated belief of how things should be.
It is important as it allows the writer to strongly express his view in a straight and direct way where readers can easily accept and understand.
3)Human Cloning should not be allowed.
Assumption: Everyone should be unique.
Reasons) With cloning duplicates of a person will be created making a certain person no longer special as there are many of them. This can be seen even from market products, the more the amount the lower the value.
Another reason will be that it will cause chaos in the world. People will no longer be real, just copies of others and i can forsee that near 100 years of the first cloning, the world will only be filled with people who are higher than average those that are not good enough will be eliminated. And thus the world will be one with only the tops, many of them. It will no longer be natural but man made.
4)I've learnt how to blog, how to give constructive comments and how to locate topic sentences. I've enjoyed the blogging sessions most as it is always noisy and entertaining in a way. With lots of interaction between the classmates.
The purpose of CRS is for us to have a better ability to do reasonings in a clear-headed and critical way to analyse and evaluate arguments and opinions.
Assumption is what do i think of this certain thing. Assumptions are important to essay writing as our views will be included which is an essential factor to present a good essay.It is just like a supporting detail source. It is also important because our creativity will be brought along in the views.
I felt that human clonning should not be allow. My assumption is it is destructive to the nature of the world and human race. It is destructive because we are now doing replica's of humans which are sources that is bringing up the everyday life in the world where there is non neccessary needs as what we have now should be contented. And may abuse the use of human clones to create wars for sacrifies that nobody will care. It means where the innocent people will get the sufferings who have parents and people around them who cares and loves, but for the clone itself, it is without the knowledge of life and the years of a human spend to learn and know what is feelings. Where for millions and millions of years, human are reproduce in natural way, motherhood is experience. But now cloning is from chemicals and machines with the most important part from the humans which is the DNA. I felt it is abusive to human rights, everyone in the world contains DNA. But for a certain human who decides to clone himself, it is not fair for the rest of the world to live with clones. It is totally spoiling the nature cycle of the world.
I have learned how to present essays with my own views and opinions, how to give comments which is straight to the point.
I also get to learn alot and get familiarise with arguementative articles, knowing how to give my own stands and view. I enjoy the lesson on online blogging where we are able to view other opinions and views given by people. Where ideas are shared among each other and it made interactive efficient.
1) The purpose of CRS is crucial and will give you a competitive edge and contribute to your success in your studies, career and life. You will develop as individuals who are not only competent in your technical skills but also confident and critical thinkers.
2) Assumptions are unstated beliefs and ideas about how things should be and how things are. The stronger the assumptions, the more relevant the reasoning would be. Conversely, if the assumptions are weak, the reasoning would be less relevant and thus vulnerable to attack.
3) I disagree with the quote, as I feel that human cloning should be banned.
If human cloning is encouraged, over-crowding of human and human clones in the world as by human nature, people will not just create clones of themselves just because they are dying or have any uncurable diseases. They will just cloned themselves just because they are afraid that they will just die anytime. So if this happens, there will sure be conflicts and riots between the human and the human clones because the present human who did the cloning were not dead yet.
If human cloning is allowed, then what is the use of animal nature that give birth to the young alive? This is against the God's creation in giving everyone a precious life. As it is against the God's creation, it will cause those religious people to strongly disagree with human cloning.
4) I have learnt from CRS how to write an argumentative essay. This is not the usual essay that I had written in O levels. But it is to state the writer's stand and my comments about the article. I also learnt how to use a blog by having blogging lesson with the lecturer. The most important thing that i learnt as part of CRS is how to use FACTIVA because it helped to find articles online easily. The lesson that i enjoyed most is the blogging classes because this is the first time i actually learn how to use a blog. I feel that it is a very interesting type of teaching. Therefore, I would like to encourage the other CRS lecturer to use the way to teach CRS.
